Applying to Teach

Why would I want to teach at Ensign College?
All of us feel it is a privilege to work at Ensign College. You have a significant role in helping students succeed at Ensign College. We want to serve the students and help them achieve their aspirations and have faith-building experiences while they are enrolled. You no doubt became an instructor because you, in part, desired to inspire, encourage and help students become successful citizens armed with knowledge, skills and capabilities that go far beyond the subject matter your specific expertise will bring. Remember, that each student matters and our goal is to remind them of their divine identity to become capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.

What kind of teacher does Ensign College look for?
Ensign College and other Church Educational System institutions exist to provide an education in an atmosphere consistent with the ideals and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That atmosphere is created and preserved by a community of faculty, administration, staff, and students who voluntarily commit to conduct their lives in accordance with the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ and who strive to maintain the highest standards in their personal conduct regarding honor, integrity, morality, and consideration of others. By accepting appointment, continuing in employment, being admitted, or continuing class enrollment, each member of the Ensign College community personally commits to observe these Honor Code standards approved by the Board of Trustees “at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9).

How do I apply?
Ensign College is always seeking qualified, friendly, and dedicated faculty to help students achieve their goals. Classes are taught by adjunct professionals who are employees in the workforce and understand the current skills students need to excel in their jobs. Specific qualifications for each program or course are provided by the respective Program Chair or Course Owner. Interested persons can apply here .

Will I be notified if I am not the candidate chosen?
Yes, usually by phone or email. If you have not received notification regarding hire status, please contact 801.524.8100 and ask for Human Resources.

New Faculty Training

What is the process for training for new faculty?
The training process includes online compliance training, Canvas training, a New Faculty Training Course in Canvas and a New Faculty Orientation meeting that is in person on campus before your first semester.
